    by Gene Luen Yang Year Published: 2020 Graphic novel, memoir

    I'm not sure how to describe this graphic novel, that's not really a novel -- it's a memoir of Yang's experiences with the high school basketball team at his small high school that is aiming for the state championship. But it's more than that -- it's a history of basketball and of the team. It's about a difficult decision Yang needs to make. It's about gifted young athletes who have been working towards the championship for years.
